With Minecraft and Diablo shows already on the way, Netflix reportedly offered Xbox $500m for a bigger film and TV deal

✍️ What we know so far

Automatic note by LuaCat Games, built from what we know about the coverage (who reported it, how many sites, the story’s history) — not a translation or copy of the source.

So far only Eurogamer has run it, but that's a newsroom that checks what it publishes. This is no ordinary release: Minecraft is one of those works that split the story into before and after — plenty of what came later carries a piece of it. In the 30 days before this one, 37 other Minecraft stories ran here. You can follow this without buying the whole story.

Bottom line: You can treat this as firm, just keep an eye on updates.
