What we know so far
Automatic note by LuaCat Games, built from what we know about the coverage (who reported it, how many sites, the story’s history) — not a translation or copy of the source.
This one spread fast: 3 sites published it, including Push Square, Nintendo Everything, and Gematsu. Few franchises came back as well as Sonic the Hedgehog, and the audience hasn't forgotten it. In the 30 days before this one, 33 other Sonic stories ran here.
Bottom line: This story already had 1 chapter before this one — check “How the story developed” below. When 3 sites tell the same story, the odds of it being wrong are pretty slim.
