'There is no secret sauce' to a successful live service game according to Overwatch's associate game director, but knowing your audience is a good start

✍️ What we know so far

Automatic note by LuaCat Games, built from what we know about the coverage (who reported it, how many sites, the story’s history) — not a translation or copy of the source.

So far only PC Gamer has run it, but that's a newsroom that checks what it publishes. Overwatch stopped being a niche subject a long time ago — it's talk for people who don't even follow the scene. In the 30 days before this one, 11 other Overwatch stories ran here.

Bottom line: You can treat this as firm, just keep an eye on updates.
