Quick summary
Award season is here. We're getting closer to that time of year when a lot of game awards are announced and it seems Nintendo is already up for some nominations. The 44th annual Golden JoyStick Awards for 2026 have now opened voting across 21 categories, and a handful of Nintendo games have been shortlisted.

What we know so far
Automatic note by LuaCat Games, built from what we know about the coverage (who reported it, how many sites, the story’s history) — not a translation or copy of the source.
So far only Nintendo Life has run it, but that's a newsroom that checks what it publishes. Fire Emblem came out in 1990 and never left: that's 36 years of turning up in every conversation about it. In the 30 days before this one, 127 other Pokémon stories ran here.
Bottom line: You can treat this as firm, just keep an eye on updates.
