Quick summary
Kojima: “It looks like Japan might get pulled into a war too … It's like [pre-WWII] Japan”
What we know so far
Automatic note by LuaCat Games, built from what we know about the coverage (who reported it, how many sites, the story’s history) — not a translation or copy of the source.
This comes from Anime News Network, which does its own reporting — for now, it's the only coverage. Some people met Metal Gear Solid in 1998; others were born long after and joined in anyway. In the 30 days before this one, 5 other Metal Gear stories ran here.
Bottom line: Safe to take the main point — it's the fine detail that sometimes shifts later.
