GTA 6 Will Make The Game Awards Cutoff Date for Eligibility by the Skin of Its Teeth, Confirming It Has a Chance at 2026 Game of the Year

✍️ What we know so far

Automatic note by LuaCat Games, built from what we know about the coverage (who reported it, how many sites, the story’s history) — not a translation or copy of the source.

So far only IGN has run it, but that's a newsroom that checks what it publishes. GTA stopped being a niche subject a long time ago — it's talk for people who don't even follow the scene. Worth remembering: GTA already had a delay announced on 10/14/2026. Noted: when the month arrives, we'll remember this date.

Bottom line: You can treat this as firm, just keep an eye on updates.
