Quick summary
Rockstar Games has revealed that it originally intended to develop GTA 6 alongside Red Dead Redemption 2, meaning it probably would've come out much sooner than we ever realized.

What we know so far
Automatic note by LuaCat Games, built from what we know about the coverage (who reported it, how many sites, the story’s history) — not a translation or copy of the source.
This comes from IGN, which does its own reporting — for now, it's the only coverage. Some people met GTA in 1997; others were born long after and joined in anyway. Worth remembering: GTA already had a delay announced on 10/14/2026. If the date holds this time, we'll come back here and say so. Hot off the press — the kind of news that gets the community going.
Bottom line: Safe to take the main point — it's the fine detail that sometimes shifts later.
