Quick summary
Rose Belmont is not her father. Rose is something new: the next generation of the legendary vampire hunters spending her life trying to step out of Trevor's shadow, to be seen as the self-reliant woman she is. Any monster that faces her is surprised to see a young girl, not the grizzled old man they've grown used to…
What we know so far
Automatic note by LuaCat Games, built from what we know about the coverage (who reported it, how many sites, the story’s history) — not a translation or copy of the source.
This comes from Rock Paper Shotgun, which does its own reporting — for now, it's the only coverage. Worth remembering the scale here: Castlevania changed what people expected from the genre back in 1986, and the bar stayed up. The previous Castlevania trailer came out 18 days before this story.
Bottom line: Safe to take the main point — it's the fine detail that sometimes shifts later.
